Who are we?

MyWellbeing IAPT Service is an established, forward-thinking ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) service, providing psychological therapy for people across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems.

The successful post holder will have completed the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners Training) for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). We welcome applications from people who are qualifying from the PWP course shortly. This vacancy is based within a Locality Team, however, you may also be required to provide input across the other areas of the Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven district.

Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LICBT) is a highly valued and fundamental part of what we do. Our PWPs develop psychological formulations for individual patients that contribute towards the overall assessment of their care needs, collaboratively establish individual patient’s goals towards recovery, determine suitability of specific psychological interventions based on the patient’s assessment/formulation and plan and deliver and review individual and group psychological interventions (including 1-1 face-to-face and remote sessions, groups and Computerised-CBT [cCBT] via SilverCloud modalities), for specific patients. Main PWP duties include:
  • Working without direct supervision and in partnership with other psychological therapists to deliver evidence-based therapy to individual and groups of patients.
  • Managing a designated caseload of patients with responsibility for their assessment (including clinical risk), implementation and evaluation of therapy.
  • Proactively contributing to the achievement of positive clinical outcomes, including conducting evaluations using clinical outcome measures and satisfaction surveys.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, relatives/carers, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a manner that is sensitive, open, welcoming and person-centred.
  • Acting as a mentor to trainees, supporting newly qualified staff and be responsible for implementing the appraisal process.
  • Using IT systems effectively
