We are delighted to invite an application for a Assistant Child Psychotherapy post to be based in the South Beds - Luton CAMHS and in North Beds – Bedford CAMHS. Health Education England has confirmed funding for an aspiring Child Psychotherapist who is in the process of considering applying to train as a Child Psychotherapist within the ACP recognised training schools.

It is a requirement for this post that applicants are enrolled in or have completed a course of study leading to a PG Diploma/Masters (UK academic level 7) that includes the minimum components prescribed by the ACP for entry to the CAPT Doctorate training.

They will already be working with children and young people in a professional capacity and will have an interest in and some understanding of psycho-analytical thinking.

Successful applicants will have access to HEE funding towards travel expenses and towards analytic fees. The funding is limited to 1 year with the possibility of extension to a second year pending on further funding from the HEE.

The successful candidate will provide suitable clinical interventions under the supervision of an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist or senior clinician appropriate to their level of qualification, skill and experience to meet the needs of infants, children, young people and their families or carers as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will attend multi-disciplinary team meetings; will join members of the team in their clinical work such as supporting initial assessments; undertake observations in schools and other settings; assist in clinically related administration such as ROMS and collection of statistics. The applicant will be supported to develop skills in undertaking accurate assessment of risk to self and others.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the organisation and running of the service through the delivery of administrative task and to undertake audit or research activity to support service aims.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
