The Flitch of Bacon is proud to be one of the best restaurant in Essex. Nestled in the yale of the River Chelmer, it is a warm, welcoming, and relaxing restaurant with rooms housed in a stunning sixteenth-century Grade I listed building. We produce a refined British menu made of carefully sourced, seasonal local ingredients, served by the warm, friendly and hospitable award-winning team.

We’re currently looking for a host/hostess who is committed to providing an unparalleled service to their guests and leave them wanting to come back for another Flitch experience.

This exciting opportunity would be ideal for experienced individuals who wish to develop their skills within a growing and fast paced environment.

Main duties

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• Where possible, open the front door for guests entering the Restaurant.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests wherever possible.
• Upon seating, offer guest a menu and inform them of their server’s name.
• In line with Restaurant Manager’s requirement, inspect table for proper presentation.
• Relay arrival to Restaurant Manager or Head Waiter/Waitress.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Relay guest feedback to Restaurant Manager and Chef Patron.
• Support bar when needed.
• Liaise with the office and reservations system to ensure all details for the next service are correct, noting any anniversaries and birthdays etc.

The Person

• The successful candidate will be/have:
• Experience working within a similar environment
• Positive approach to work and staff.
• Flexibility.
• Good communication skills.
• To always be approachable, friendly and attentive.
• Have the ability to multi-task.
