Position Overview & Specifications

Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant, Orthopaedics, Permanent 37.5, hours a week. Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed person to join the Orthopaedic Integrated Therapy Team at Pilgrim Hospital Boston as a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant. You will be working as part of a dynamic team comprising of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants.

The successful applicant will work closely with and carry out rehabilitation programmes directed by the Physiotherapist.

To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients.

The post-holder will work on a 7-day cycle . They will be expected to work on the Assistants orthopaedic weekend rota.

To accept patients referred by the Physiotherapists/ Occupational Therapists and carry their own patient caseload.

Treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring progression and progressing/regressing patients treatment plans as required under indirect supervision of qualified staff.

Work alongside qualified staff and other assistants in delivering a new and regular pre-hab hip and knee class.

Make lone home visits to patients for post discharge review, using the “Buddy” system to ensure your safety.

The department is committed to staff development through in-service training and a competency based assessment programme.
