Position Overview & Specifications

The purpose of this post is to provide support for the development and early testing of a new complex intervention for cardiac arrest survivors and their key supporters (family and friends) – the Cardiac Arrest Recovery Enablement and Supported Self-management feasibility study (CARESS-f). This is a 30-month, multi-centre, single-arm, feasibility study with an embedded process evaluation, funded by the National Institute for Health Research Research for Patient Benefit Programme (NIHR RfPB).https://fundingawards.nihr.ac.uk/award/NIHR204049

You will be a key member of the team in this process. This will be a varied role involving collaboration with cardiac arrest survivors, key supporters, other researchers, and clinicians from around the UK.

Support intervention development through consultation with key stakeholders (including survivors, key supporters, healthcare professionals). You will facilitate focus groups and whole day meetings (‘workshops’), supporting the exploration of different perspectives on intervention content and delivery, and informing and achieving agreement on intervention co-refinement and key requirements for the feasibility study.

Develop and iteratively refine study materials and relevant participant-related materials for each phase of the study.

Contribute to the process evaluation by conducting and evaluating qualitative interviews (in person or virtually) to explore: the recruiters’ perspectives; the participants’ experiences; and the facilitators experiences of intervention delivery.
