West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit several posts for our Help Desk. We are looking for someone with good communication skills and commitment to deliver excellent customer service to join our team working at our Force Help Desks.
We have the following positions available:
- One full time and one job share at Stainbeck posts with a shift pattern of Monday - Friday 10:00 x 18:00 hours.
- One full time at Dewsbury with a shift pattern of Monday-Friday 10:00x18:00
- One job share vacancy at Keighley with a shift pattern of Monday – Friday 10:00x18:00
- One Job share vacancy based at Huddersfield working a shift pattern between the hours of 08:00 x 20:00, 7 days a week.
- We are also looking to recruit to a succession list for future vacancies working full time and job share both shifts and Monday-Friday 1000x1800.

About the role
You will be the customer interface between West Yorkshire Police and the public ensuing that enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
This role will involve you working in the Front Counter areas of police stations and leasing with members of the public. You will receive, evaluate and record enquiries in person, via telephone, e-mail or electronic systems, providing guidance and support to customers ensuring that all matters are dealt with or directed to the appropriate recourse.
These reports may include criminal offences, road traffic collisions, and victims of crime.
What we need from you?
- Ability to use computer systems (training will be provided on all required computer systems)
- Experience if working in a customer focused role and a drive to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate clearly and deal with challenging customers with empathy.
- Due to the nature of some of the work resilience to deal with distressed victims and extremely sensitive issues.
